Bye Bye Tassy
8.8.08
Mike & I had a great time in Tassy. We drove from Hobart to Launceston.
On the way we went to Mount Wellington. You can see Hobart at the bottom of the mountain.
There was a bit of snow.
Mike was cool.
And my snow leopard was just hanging around :)
It was a beautiful place!
In Launceston, we visited our friends and went to a zoo.
Here are my favourite animals from the zoo. They are all babies. They are super cute!
Can you guess their names?
They are emus.
This is an echidna.
It's time to watch the Olympics!
bye,
Susie

Pretty Port Arthur
5.8.08
Today we went to Port Arthur. It is a beautiful place with a sad history.
Port Arthur was created as a gaol for convicts who had been in trouble many times.
But it was the first place where they tried to teach the convicts new skills, so that they could get a job when they finished their time.
The story is much more sad but I can't tell you it all now.
Photos will be below!
enjoy,
Susie

Hooray for Hobart
4.8.08
Today we flew to Hobart. It took 1 hour and 40 minutes from Sydney.
Hobart is the capital of Tasmania. Approximately 200,000 people live in Hobart, that's 4 times as many people as in Taebaek!
The sky was super blue, the wind blew and I felt a bit cold.
Mike wanted to drink coffee at a special cafe called Oomf. So we drove around until we found it. We drank cappuccinos and shared a toasted sandwich. It was yummy!
In the afternoon we went to Cascade Brewery to learn about making beer. It was interesting - even though I didn't think it would be!
We learnt that Cascade also make drinks from apples, raspberries and ginger. That was a surprise!
Mike had a ginger beer and I had Apple Isle.
A funny fact is that ginger beer does not have beer in it!
Here is a photo of the brewery and an apple cider.
see you next time,
Susie

boring day
3.8.08
today is boring. Mike is feeling a bit under the weather and I'm feeling sleepy.
All we have done is sleep and watch tv.
Boring.
I'm trying to tell Mike that we should go out and walk around some shops or.. something!
I hope he feels better soon and I hope I wake up!
later,
Susie

4 Airports in 2 Days
29.7.08
Man am I tired!
4 airports in 2 days. That's right: Incheon (Seoul), Hong Kong, Bangkok and Sydney.
Seoul to Hong Kong was a good flight.
In Hong Kong airport we could see the city - as soon as we got off the plane! It felt really strange to see the city so very, very close.
Then after 1 hour we hopped back on the plane and flew to Bangkok.
Unfortunately there was a girl on the flight who didn't want to be there - she screamed and cried all the way to Bangkok.
I was really, really happy to get off that plane!
Then we got to spend one night in Bangkok at a hotel called Le Fenix - all the windows are in the shape of a "L". Crazy huh?
The next day we were back at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport and on our way to Sydney.
The flight to Sydney is overnight - so we need to sleep on the plane. But it's not easy to sleep on a plane. Mike has been travelling longer than I have but I'm still better at sleeping on the plane. Strange huh?
My Mother meets us at the airport. She's crying and I'm crying and Mike thinks we are crazy. But I'm just really happy to be able to hug my Mum.
Mum takes us home and fusses over us. She likes to do that :)
I will put up some photos as soon as I can.
talk soon,
Susie

Seoul
25.7.08
Today Mike and I took a bus to Seoul.
We arrived in Seoul at 12:30pm and went to Myeongdong for lunch.
Mike had donkatseu and I had ramen.
After lunch we went to KEB at the Seoul Global Center then to Nonghyup then to KEB.
It was a very busy afternoon!
When we finished all the bank stuff, we went to Cafe Themselves. To have an iced coffee. It was so so nice :)
For dinner we tried a restaurant called Casa Maya. The food was mexican and it was really, really good! Here is a slide show - the only thing I forgot to take a photo of was the salad! Oh no!
in a while crocodile,
Susie

On Sunday and Monday, I taught at the Taebaek Summer Middle School Camp.
We had a fun time!
We made tee-shirts, built cars from fruit (and then raced them), made monsters (it was very scary) and played cricket.
Here are some photos so that you can see what we did and here are the photos that Mike took.
